About us
Our story
RFR Coffee is a coffee brand founded on a passion for the outdoors and the love of fishing for a father and his two sons. Marvin raised his two boys, Matt and Doug, in the outdoors and on the water. It was during these times together on the water and in the woods that Matt and Doug developed their passion for all things outdoors, but especially fishing. Both Matt and Doug would go on to become Merchant Mariners after attending the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and only further ingrained their love for the water and the sport of fishing. This time at Kings Point and their time in the Maritime Industry also curated their taste and appreciation for coffee. Born from the family’s passion for fishing, and from their love of great coffee, RFR has grown out of the crossroads where these two passions meet. We hope that our coffee meets you with incredible quality, all while drawing you to great memories, past and present, that have been made on the water while fishing together with family and friends.Â
Our Artist
Dawson (@Dawsonianoutdoors) is as much a part of our brand as any of us! Without his incredible work we wouldn’t be anywhere close to where we are today! His work brings life to our concepts and coffee labels. He captures our passion and love for fishing and coffee in every stroke of his artwork. We can’t express in words how awesome he has been, and we look forward to working with him as the brand moves forward. Here is a little bit about Dawson in his own words:Â
“I have been drawing ever since I could remember. Although my subject has changed drastically, art has always been my passion. Growing up in the Carolinas, I fished everything from gulf stream to high mountain streams. It wasn’t until late high school that I truly became obsessed with fishing and in college I picked up fly fishing. I am married and work as the manager of a local newspaper company during the day and create my artwork early in the morning.” Â
Our mission
As a family owned coffee brand, our mission is to provide our customers with fresh, high quality coffee roasts that embrace and pay respect to the sport of fishing, and those that pursue fish on and in the water everywhere. Along with providing coffee to our customers, it is part of our mission to ensure that the resources that we are able to enjoy as anglers are here for future generations. With that in mind, our company will always make it part of our mission to support conservation organizations for fishing and water resources. Most importantly, as our family finds its foundation in our faith, and our Savior, Jesus Christ, our mission will always be to find opportunities to share and spread the Gospel, and to support different ministry opportunities wherever possible! We hope that you will enjoy our brand and coffee as we share our passion for fishing, and the ministry with you. From the bottom of our hearts we say thank you for your support of RFR Coffee, and may God bless and keep you always. Fair winds and following seas to you and your family.  Â
